Slow Wonder

Notes
Slow Wonder was a fall exhibition at Spring Street Studios in Houston, curated by artist and curator Erica Reed Lee. Presented by the artists of Spring Street Studios, the exhibition brought together resident artists and local guest artists whose works invited viewers to slow down, look closely, and reflect on the quiet process of discovery. In contrast to a world shaped by speed, reaction, and immediacy, Slow Wonder created space for attention, contemplation, and gradual revelation. The exhibition suggested that understanding the self, the surrounding world, and the relationships between them does not happen instantly. Through a range of artistic practices, the participating artists explored how meaning can emerge through patience, observation, and sustained engagement. Zohreh Bakhshi participated as a guest artist in this exhibition, joining a broader conversation about presence, perception, and the value of looking with care.
