Head in Red on Wood
Oil and charcoal on plywood
A reclining head drawn across a field of red paint on wood.
Broad red brushstrokes sit beneath dark contours and overlapping shading. The exposed wood grain remains part of the image, contrasting with the dense marks around the face and hair.
